downloading files will not work on OSX 12.6 WhenI try to download a file, either; a momentary "blip" occurs, or the msg is "stopped". The same files can be downloaded on Firefox. Using MacBook Pro 2020, OSX 12.6.

There are many potential reasons. Review Use AirDrop on your Mac - Apple Support. Describe the devices you are using, describe what you are doing with each device, and describe what you are expecting to occur that is not occurring.
