Screen Separation

I own an iPad Air which was purchased in 2018, I noticed 6 months ago that the corner of my screen is coming unglued so to speak.

I have 3 dark shadows that go across my screen which are getting worse. This evening I was panicking badly as my device slipped off my bed onto a carpeted floor. My iPad had turned itself off when it landed. I ended up doing a hard reset to get it turned back on again, I’m worried because money is very tight and could just about afford getting it done at one of those high street repair shops.

I want Apple to repair my device as I want it done properly, I really would love to hear from anyone who has experienced the same problems with there device. Am I to expect a costly bill. Can I do anything to make my devices picture quality better. I’ve obviously turned my brightness on to max which has no effect at all

.

Please get in touch,

Thank You xx

Hi Jessica.Rabbit1973, thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

Because it is out of warranty and based on your post, it looks to be the iPad Air 2 released in 2014, whilst Apple Security Updates still support the iPad Air 2, it's not known for how much longer. The following links show the model and security updates for the iPad Air 2:

https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201471

However, you should check with Apple Support (in your country) and the following link explains more about this and the Out of Warranty Fees:

Having said that, you may also want to consider the cost-benefit of repairing a 7-8 year old iPad and maybe upgrading your iPad to a later model. And from time-to-time Apple sell refurbished iPads and the following link shows what is available in my country:
