can't assign location to an old photo

I am unable to edit location in my pix in Photos? When I go Image>Location>Assign Location, "assign Location" is greyed out.

How can I fix it?

Assigning location not working Hello Apple Community. I've got some old photos which are not geo referenced. I know that I can assign a location to the photo or selection of photos under the photo information but for some reason this is not working. When I type a location in it initially comes up and then it disappears and nothing happens. Any one else have this issue? macOS Big Sur 11.3 (20E232) Photos Version 6.0 (340.0.221)

Assigning a new geo location in Photos v6 Big Sur Just imported all my pics to Apple Photos. Although I can assign a location to photos which do not have one, I can't change any geo locations. The pin won't drag, and there is no text box in which to enter a new location. Any ideas?

I’ve actually figured it out. First, I have to go imag>location>revert to original. This clears the location of the image and allows you to put in a new location.

What happens if you open the info pane (cmd-i) and try to type a location into the location field there?
