Hey there, mlaforet,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are not receiving notifications for emails and messages as expected. We are happy to help!

First, make sure your notifications settings are correct for the apps, and that the "mute notifications" option is not set for either app: Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support.

Then, ensure you do not have a Focus set that would interfere with the delivery of those notifications: Use Focus on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you still need help after that, don't hesitate to respond back with more details on what is happening. For example, you say they are not working all the time. Do you find that they do not work at certain times of day, or in certain locations? The more details you can provide, the better.

Thank you for following up, mlaforet,

Depending on the situation, it may be expected at times for your phone not to provide a notification. For example, if you use an Apple Watch, you will receive notifications on either the watch or the phone, but not both. Additionally, if you have the Messages app open in a thread with a specific contact, you will not receive notifications when that person messages you.

That said, if you're not receiving notifications in other circumstances you typically would expect to, we do want to continue investigating this with you. It sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting already, so we recommend getting in touch with Apple Support directly next. You can do that here: Get Support.

Enjoy your weekend!

I'm running IOS 15.3 on a Iphone 8.

I have tried all the fixes suggested on 4 or 5 different sites.

I have reset the phone to factory setting and gone through all the settings again.

The issue is completely random.

As an example, I get a text message from my son and get both a banner and sound notification. Minutes later he'll text me and nothing.

Email notifications come one time and not the next.

Once I'll I'll get a banner on the lock screen but no sound.

Next time nothing. This happens with all the app's I have set to notify.

I thought it was my phone but have seen reports of this happening on everything from Iphone 8 to 13.

This began after upgrading to IOS15. Everything worked fine before the upgrade.

Very frustrating, I conduct business on my phone and notifications are very important.
