2019 MacBook Pro battery issue

My Mac Pro won’t charge until the computer completely dies. Then it will recognize the charger is connected.

this has been happening for 2 years now.

after an update 2 years ago this problem started.

Im sure this is a software glitch but nothing seems to resolve it. Resetting the battery controller does nothing.

it would charge yesterday and once it fully ran out of battery power, it sat for about an hour plugged in and then started charging again.

the little charge symbol was on the screen. I did the latest update and it stopped charging.

now I’ll let it run down again, and it will start charging up. It does usually charge up for weeks at a time, but sometimes it just decides to stop charging and I go through the whole process again.

it always fails to charge after an update.

I didn’t get apple care:(

Your battery may be bad probably. Just take it to an Apple Store and tell them what happened (they might fix it or give you a new MacBook) especially since it’s been happening for 2 years now.
