Whatsapp video call not working on MacBook Air 2014, Big Sur 11.6.3

I have a problem with my MacBook Air when I using the whatsApp video call I can't see anything, my display remains translucent (can see vague shadows) but my friend can see me. I contacted Whatsapp support but they are of no help. They think issue is with MacOS/Hardware combination. Does anyone know a workaround? I want to use WhatsApp video calls on my MacBook Air.
