I cannot remove my partition
I tried secureErase but it did not work. This is my problem below(I am in recovery mode)
I tried removing the partition with (-) but
The “free space” overlapped to the original size
I’m using macbook pro 2011(13”)

You would need to select the parent drive (top most in your pic above.)
If this does not work— to reclaim space erase/format/initialize the parent drive and reinstall the macOS/ restore your user data from backup.

Hello leroydouglas,
thank you for messaging me and trying to help me out. I wasn’t able to fix the issue yet.
but as you can see it failed to delete and the “Macintosh HD” got greyed out everytime I try to delete the parent drive and still fail. I can manage to reinstall macOS back again but “free space” are still there.
will APFS format solve the issue? and I have time machine backup but have no idea how to do what you just mentioned. I’ll be waiting for your next response, thanks.
