HomePod Mini - “Some features may not work on this network” Peer-to-Peer issue.

Router: NETGEAR NightHawk MR60 Mesh Network

Issue:

I’ve been having a lot of issues with my HomePod mini’s as well as AirPlay ever since I upgraded my home network. It has been an ongoing for a while now. I have finally been able to resolve it. I have looked on so many forums and non of the information out there resolved the issue. I’m posting here so others can refer to this.

Resolution:

Login to you Router Via the IP Address (Was unable to make the change through the NightHawk App)

Advanced Settings - Wireless Settings - Uncheck “Enable 20/40 MHz Coexistence

After applying the change I’m now able to AirPlay to all devices and don’t have limitations on the HomePod Mini.

Hope this helps :-)

I figured it out! I followed the tip to uncheck the box for 20/40 coexistence and originally that didn’t work for me. I was playing around with some other settings and found a combination that worked for me. In the same section (advanced> advanced setup> wireless settings) I checked the box that enables MU-MIMO, as well as keeping 20/40 coexistence off. Now my HomePod minis work with stereo pairing, and my other HomeKit devices are working properly. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing this elusive solution! I've often found that a direct web connection to a router's admin screen gets the job done better than the overly-simplified apps provided by vendors.

I shouldn't wonder if some Product Marketing folks at Apple aren't wondering if they backed out of the WiFi hub business too soon :-). AirPort Mesh Express!

This is an amazing find and I’m glad it worked for you! I tried this as well and I’m still having an issue with my HomePod minis and other Airplay features ever since I “upgraded” to the MR60. Anything you might recommend? I reset my home settings, reset both HomePod minis and created the stereo pair and they still do not play together. I also rebooted my router and satellites. The HomePods don’t even pop up as a audio source I can connect to on the music app…

!!UPDATE!!

Issues:

After using these settings for about a week I have had a lot of issues with drop outs and increase in Ping after disabling 20/40 MHz Coexistence. I enabled it again and tried setting a static IP for iPhone and HomePods but issue persisted. I tried changing NAT type to Open but same issues.

Resolved:

I reverted back to the original settings after trying all these different things and everything is now just working. I have no clue what actually resolved the issue but the past 4 days AirPlay has been working along with stereo pair and Siri is now responding to personal requests.

Comment:

I’ll try and update this thread if issues persist and If I can help troubleshoot.
