Ipad Air 4 Touch ID Problem

I bought an Ipad Air 4, 6 months ago. It came out of the parcel with a hairline scratch on the Touch Id button. Even though I took a video while opening the parcel, Apple Support and Consumer Rights did not find me right.

Since I bought the product, I have been using it only with PIN. The Touch Id(Power Button) key gets very hot. When I am not using the product, I have to turn it off completely. Is it possible for me to completely disable the Touch ID button?

Greetings, Efecaglar.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We can understand why you’d want to find a resolution with your Home Button.

While you are not able to disable the Home Button, you could try these steps: If a button or switch isn't working on your iPhone or iPad

You could also consider using Assistive Touch for a Home Button: Use AssistiveTouch on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Ultimately, it would be best to Contact Apple Support.

We hope this helps! Thanks for being a part of the community.

Sincerely.
