I locked a folder last week, and now I can't unlock it. The info on the folder says I only have permission to read - yet I am the administrator of this computer and I created the folder. How can I get it unlocked??

If in Finder you select Get Info is the Locked checkbox checked?
What happens when you click on the padlock in lower right of the Window and enter your admin password and try to uncheck the Locked box?

What is the path to the folder? It usually starts with your startup disk>Users>Your username>...
Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

When in safe mode try unlocking the padlock
A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.
Can you unlock the padlock in the System Preferences>Security and Privacy Preference?
The screenshot help since it says "waiting to Upload"
Do you have iCloud set up to sync that foldr or the entire Document - MacBook folder?
If not are you uploading it to somewhere else?
It seems that the folder is locked until upload is complete.
I would try powering off and then back on your router.
Next restart your mac.
I'm not sure how to see the path. I go to the folder by using Finder, then Documents>Documents-MacBook>Jessie Home.
Safe reboot didn't change anything. Also System Preferences doesn't work. I can view the folder contents, but can't unlock it to work on the files.

Sync seems to work for most items but some are stuck. What I was able to do was upload the individual files, and then copy the files into a new folder in Documents. I trashed the locked folder that was in Documents-Macbook as it would not unlock. I'm thinking about trashing the Documents-Macbook folder as it is now empty and just sitting there waiting to upload.
Two other folders that are still stuck "waiting to upload" are in Documents. I can access them ok, I just can't figure out why they won't sync.
Well, I did that and still had 3 folders that said “waiting to upload “. But I can access the documents and my original problem is solved. I moved the files to new folders and deleted the stalled folders and it looks like everything has synced now. Maybe those 3 folders were somehow corrupted?? Anyway, I think it’s all good now. Thanks!
I have same padlock issue which don't response when click on it but it doesn't show waiting to upload & unless it shows iCloud download icon(Cloud icon with downward facing arrow) has any body knows the solution?
Hi, the padlock is not active - it's just faint, not bright like it should be. So clicking on it does nothing at all.
It's as if it doesn't recognize me as the admin.
It's all supposed to upload to iCloud. Maybe that's the problem? I'll see what I can do to sync that. It did seem to me that it was taking an awfully long time to upload.
Try a new item to sync with iCloud to see if the syning is still working.
