Windows 10 pc running iTunes, all up to date versions, iTunes doesn't see or recognize iPhone!

My windows 10 pc running iTunes doesn't recognize the my iPhone in iTunes. "This PC" sees the iPhone and allows me to download photos to PC ( somewhat cumbersome). I want to back up my iphone to I Tunes.

Device sync test fails.

Connected Device Information:

, iPhone XS Max running firmware version 15.3.1

Serial Number: FK1XH6P1KPHG

When I click on iTunes -Files- devices none of the options work.

What do I need to do?
