Setting Outlook as my default calendar

G'Day, I'm on a Macbook Pro running macOS Monterey v12.2.1. MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)

When I get a link to a meeting invite and I'm asked to open the invite, it downloads an ics file and opens with my Apple Calendar. I have gone into Apple Calendar and set Outlook as my default calendar, but the ics file continues to open in Apple Calendar. How do I get that to default to Outlook?

Thanks for your help!

Reach out to Outlook? So you are saying that there is nothing else I can do?

Hi there tekey,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you need help with Calendar preferences so you can open meeting invitations in Outlook. We'll be happy to help.

The Calendar user guide indicates you can change the default calendar used for meeting invites. Check out this resource: Change General preferences in Calendar on Mac

Best regards.
