A question on Mail on Mac.

It seems I lost a whole Mailbox (abt 80 emails) from my ON MY MAC  library.

Considering I am religiously backing up my computer every Saturday, this is no disaster.

I located the lost Mailbox on my back-up disk.

How do I transfer the “culprit” Mailbox from the external disk to its location in my library?

Tks

Mystery now solved thanks to a very knowledgable and polite Apple support operative.

Procedure requires two steps:

Primo: Export relevant Mailbox(es) from external HD into a fresh empty folder on computer desktop.

Secondo : Import relevant Mailbox(es) from desktop into directory of Mail on Mac.

While importing, select the APPLE MAIL option, not mbx

Very handy in case of lost mailboxes that are untraceable.

Thank you.

Make sure Mail is Quit, then what kind of Update is it? Via Time Machine?

Start with this...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
