iPhone Pro Max 11 wifi speed is slow

I have gigabit in my home via Xfinity. I'm sitting right next to the router. I also have a laptop connected to the router via ethernet. Speedtest on my laptop I get 800-900 Mbs which would be expected connected directly to to the gigabit router. However on my iphone, I only get 30Mbs. That's on the 5GHz network. Even if I change to the 2.4GHz network 56Mbs. Again I'm sitting right in front of my router. I would expect speeds in the 300-400Mbs range. Any idea why or what I should check?
