iPhone 13 reception issues

Has anyone else purchased a 13 and not been able to get any phone reception (no bars) in or outside their home? I switched from an 11 to 13 today (already returned it) because I couldn't make a call. Not sure if its a verizon or apple issue.

botkiddo, you didn’t Mention whether or not you were on Verizon. The only reason I mention that is that’s what I’m on. I’ve got Verizon going out to check the tower which I can basically see from my house. In the meantime Verizon sent me a network extender which you hook up through your modem. I got a Tell ya, it works. I’ve never seen four bars on my phone in 30 years living here, but I am on the 11, and very tempted to try the 13 again. I’ve spoken to numerous people from Verizon and Apple and no one is familiar with any issues with the 13.?????

If it’s mostly in your house and in your neighborhood I would strongly suggest one of these extenders. If it’s all over then you must have an issue with your phone.

It is the phone not the network. And what happens when you leave your house, you can not take your extender with you. I have verizon and I have the new iphone 13 promax, and I also have also on verizon a 4 year old note 10. While I love the iphone, it is horrible as a phone. People can not hear me. It drops calls. When I have a work call I have to tell people I will call them back on my 4 year old phone and they hear me fine. This happens 10 times a day, so it is not random. 100% of the time when I call back on the old phone on the same network from the same place, the bad call becomes a perfect call. This is absolutely a problem with the iphone, not verizon, not the service, not the location, its the iphone.

So what was the result when you visited a genius bar to have the phone checked out?

I have same problem. The phone drops calls. Still people have trouble hearing me. I have a 4 year old galaxy note I have to use to make phone calls because this iphone 13 promax , while great as a camera etc, is horrible as a phone. It is not reliable to use for work calls because half the time people can not hear me. It is not the service or the location. At the exact same moment people can not hear me on the iphone, if I call on my old galaxy they hear fine without issues. This is a real problem and its 100% the phone.

My iPhone 13 also has poor signal. Sometimes there are no bars and the person next to me, on the same network provider has 4 bars. It gets worse when the distance from towers increase. I’ve switched my phone on and off many times, I’ve switched from airline mode to normal mode. Still does not pick up the network. I am running the latest IOS 15. Still the same. Do I need to send my iPhone in for repair to have the mobile receiver replaced, or will that not work? Really frustrating as I travel a lot and am often without signal. Please help Apple.

It’s not in my house. House connectivity is strong. It’s when I am outside in more remote areas. There are still towers but more widely spread. My phones signal seems to weaken or totally disappear in these cases. I am outside of the US and do not use Verizon. I had no problems with my iPhone 12, using the same SIM card and same network provider. Since changing to 13 it’s almost as if the mobile network receiver for long range is not that great. I’m still not sure if this can be fixed via software update or if it is a physical component that needs to be checked
