Stickies Database file location on Monterey

I see this question asked everywhere and not one clear, correct answer for Monterey. The Stickies files are stored in a folder here: YourUserName > Library > Containers > Stickies > Data > Library > Stickies

Each note is a separate file in that folder. You can simply compress that folder in the finder (or just copy the folder) and back it up to another location if you want (Dropbox/G Drive/iCloud etc.)

You're welcome.

Hey Miklos, thank you for that, I have been asking myself the same question as I just did a clean install on my new MacBook Pro M1.

However... for some reason I do not have a "Library" folder in my "UserName" folder?! Which leaves me with no "Containers" folder either. I've searched everywhere in my Mac but can't find any of the above mentioned folders where I could my old Sticky database in...

Do you have any idea what might be going on here or have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance :-)

Prior to Catalina, the Apple StickiesDatabase was a digest of existing stickie notes located in the user's Library folder. The upgrade process to Catalina and later explodes those digest stickies into their own unique UUID RTFD (.rtfd) package folders, each with a TXT.rtf file in it. These are found at the following location on Monterey 12.2.1.

/Users/username/Library/Containers/com.apple.stickies/Data/Library/Stickies

As the Monterey Stickies application accesses these, there is no reason to disturb them, or zip that location. A Time Machine backup will capture these, so no real need to otherwise back them up, and especially to iCloud which is a convenient location, but not a backup solution.
