I Can't Find the Malware on My Computer

Google signed me out of my account on my Mac because it detected malware on my computer. It said I had a "suspicious app" on my computer. So I downloaded Clean My Mac, Malwarebytes, and EtreCheck, but they didn't find anything. I checked the Activity Monitor, and I still didn't find anything. Please help! Also, should I post the EtreCheck report?

Read the message from Google again. The message likely says an app connected to your account is the source of the problem. There is nothing on your computer to find.

Do the security checkup here: https://myaccount.google.com/security-checkup/2?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=my_account&utm_term=google_security_checkup&gclid=CjwKCAiAjoeRBhAJEiwAYY3nDBt4RTU9c2S-HVYUTEfDPjy0_TwX6GFwqaYvm6K4RHdmPlrVDfkKOhoCa3oQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&pli=1

That is all it said?

Also, a quick search has shown that this is a widespread issue for Google accounts (on PCs as well as Macs) and apps and is a Google problem of not understanding local apps, almost always legitimate, that want access to the various aspects of the "Googleverse". Check on the Google forums and you will find a wide range of reasons an fixes which most generally end up being settings in the Google apps.

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS.

This includes AntiVirus, Disk Cleaners, Disk Optimizes, UnInstaller etc.

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

This will include CleanMyMac

Antivirus software: Apple, AdGuard, and Malwarebytes

You still need to fix that. That entry should read as follows:

Antivirus software: Apple

There is no reason to suspect malware exists on that Mac. Other than "CleanMyMac" perhaps, and Google. I consider Google malware, but I doubt Google would consider itself malware any more than the developers of "CleanMyMac" would consider their products malware. I prohibit the installation of any such things on my Macs.
