Hi,
When I get video from another iphone (iphone 13 Pro max to 13 Pro max) it shows up as a small thumbnail. When I click on it, it doesn't get much bigger. It also happened when a friend sent a video from his iphone (earlier model).
I've searched the net for a solution but can't find one. There are many people with this issue.
I don't use the cloud for my photos or video.
I have plenty of room and have the latest iOS.
Any ideas?

Sorry, but that is generally how it works. The compression of video in an iMessage is automatic when on cellular. I've never witnessed it on wi-fi, but then I'm not used to sending large video files in iMessage. I don't believe that you are prompted to select the size of the video in iMessage like you would be in Mail. I'm sorry I cannot provide any additional explanation. If the sender is using cellular data and the file is large, it will get compressed to send over cellular data. That is what causes that. There is no solution except to be on wi-fi.
The sender was at home on wifi. I was at work not on wifi.
