Ipod shuffle turn on

i have an ipod shuffle and its about 8 years old and im trying to get it to turn on and charge but the ipod shuffle keeps on flashing orange for about 4 seconds then going blank. Ive tried taking plug out and in mutiple times and ive tried turning it on and off. please help me turn my ipod shuffle back on and working again. thanks
