Update to Monterey notification on unsupported MacBook

Hi folks, I currently have a mid 2014 17" MacBook Pro running macOS 11.4 Big Sur and I'm constantly receiving these notifications asking me to update to macOS Monterey, believe me, if I could I'd gladly update but my old MacBook is not in the compatibility list for Monterey and the notifications are pretty annoying and to be honest, this fells a lot like Microsoft style update begging on Windows, something I wouldn't expect from Apple.

Is there a way to stop these notifications from popping up?

Hi,

Have you tried turning off System Preferences > Software Updates > Advanced > Check for updates?

Understood, but if the issue is on Apple's end....

Question: there's no such thing as a 2014 17" MBP, so exactly which Mac do you have? Maybe it is capable of running Monterey? See Apple Menu > About This Mac

Well, you're correct, that cannot be upgraded to Monterey. So the notification issue is on Apple's end of things. I don't see another way around it, except to turn off notifications and check for updates periodically.

Its unfortunate, I hope Apple fix this. My MacBook is still running great and I like Big Sur a lot so it doesn’t bother me not being able to update to Monterey but these notifications are annoying.
