Endnote on my MacBook Pro causes fan to over work

I am using Endnote on my MacBook Pro but every time I start it the Mac gets super slow and the fan is starting to work extensively. Why does this happen and what can I do about it?

Application Notes makes constant 60-90% of CPU I have MBP 15" 2017 3.1 i7 with BigSur 11.4. Whenever I start Notes I see on Activity Monitor 60-80% CPU load. I waited hours (though it just "reorganize" something) with no effect. It always consumes 60-80% CPU - just running Notes makes my machine laud and hot. It doesn't depend on what I am doing. I can always reproduce the problem by starting MBP and opening Notes. I'm not using it, I just start it. Any idea what should I do to avoid such a problem?

Notes using a lot of energy - computer lagging Using old mid 2013 MacBook Air (all I can afford running Big Sur 11.7.4 I've done a really dumb thing. I mistakenly attempted to drag a huge file into a note (I thought I was just dragging highlighted text), the computer fan came on and I got lots of lagging. I got a notification in the app saying "maximum attachment reached" or some such thing and I panicked a bit and deleted the note. However the computer continued to attempt to complete the task I had asked it to do, now impossible because of the deleted note. I quit the app, then shut the computer down and restarted (done that several times now) but it just continues trying to complete the process. The funny thing is it's only the Energy Impact that's really high around the 300 mark at the moment (see picture) CPU is 5.5%, memory 135 - 145 MB and Disk 2.5 MB. But the machine is really laggy. Can anyone help??

Hi,

If your MacBook Pro has intel processor, resetting SMC could solve the issue.
