Bluetooth Pairing Frustration!

Just got iphone12. I tried to pair it with iPad 4. I got the message “Pairing took too long” repeatedly. Both devices are fully charged and beside each other , Bluetooth “on” for both. I’ve searched for the answer everywhere. Someone said iPhones and iPads don’t pair? Is this true?

My main frustration is that the Bluetooth pairing dial won’t stop spinning. It’s like it’s constantly searching. I’ve even turned off the iPad Bluetooth toggle to make it stop spinning. It’s driving me crazy.

Help. Me. I hate technology.

You cannot pair 2 Apple devices with each other, and there is no need to. You can share data using iCloud or AirDrop. You can have the devices share other data through “continuity” features, which do not require pairing either.

You can only pair 2 Apple devices for tethering.
