Dust on silicone MagSafe case

I’m getting a LOT of dust and lint on my iPhone 12 silicone case- on previous silicone cases this wasn’t an issue, now with the MagSafe case ( which has a magnetic thin strip built into it) it’s terrible- could the strip be increasing static buildup with the case and hence more dust/ lint? I did not have problems on silicone cases with no MagSafe built into the case. Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks for your suggestion MrBill, today I have given the case a clean with a kitchen cleaning spray to remove all dust etc, also I have removed the internal fine metal filament housed inside the case below the internal felt liner. Since I don’t use MagSafe ( or indeed like it as a charging method) I will to test my theory with the dust and static in the real world and post my findings once a day in my pocket has passed.
