How to remove apple TV from MDM when already released from Business Manager

I was reading this post, but managed to figure it out when Apple Support couldn't.

The solution was simple. Press and hold down the back and home buttons on the apple remote until the Apple TV says it is having an issue, and gives you the option to reinstall. Do so, and your problem is solved.

Apple TV hardware - black box is there a turn-in program I have a model A1469 Apple TV box that's going on 10yrs of use, I was looking at upgrading to the newest 2022 release ... Before I do that, ... what do you do with the older versions of the Apple TV box? Is there a turn-in system with apple? other vendors in general? Before getting rid of it, do i need to do anything (like delete my appleID user name etc. in settings??) Appreciate any guidance this community can provide.

New Apple TV's and Configurator 2 Just went trough the whole thing trying to get a new Apple TV added to ASM and MDM. Note, I got the Apple TV connected with a LAN cable. Upon fresh start Configurator 2 does not find the device for pairing, so need to go trough the initial setup and can then pair it. Now to the issue, when I want to prepare the device, got all profiles ready to run, Configurator 2 states that the device is already prepared and want to wipe and reboot. Which takes me doing it all over again and ending up in an endless loop. Going to get my supplier to DEP that Apple TV instead, cause I cba. messing around with this shitty piece of software anymore.
