Some iCloud tabs refuse to close

How can I "force-close" several tabs that refuse to disappear after closing them?

These several tabs are shown from other devices (iPad, iPhone) on the Safari Start Page. They can be closed on the Start Page, but do not stay closed. They reappear persistently on the Start Page.

These tabs are not visible on Safari on the other devices. They are only visible on the Start Page, along with many other tabs that operate normally.

These tabs are notable because they were saved months ago, at about the time of a MacOS upgrade. I want to clear them from the list of iCloud tabs on the Start Page.

Hello, srlawton53.

Those tabs are likely coming back because they're stored in your iCloud. This article explains more about this: Set up and use iCloud Tabs.

Follow these steps to close them:

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    1. Open Safari.
    2. Tap the Tabs button.
    3. Scroll to the bottom of the list. Below the images of tabs open on your device, you see a list of open tabs from your other supported devices.
    4. Swipe left on the tab that you want to close, then tap Close.

On your Mac

    1. Open Safari.
    2. Click the Tabs button. Below the images of tabs open on your Mac, you see a list of open tabs from your other supported devices.
    3. Hover the pointer over the tab that you want to close, then click the Close button that appears.

Let us know if we can help with anything else at all or if this doesn't settle your issue. Thanks and have a fabulous day!
