I am gonna bring my macbook to apple to remove the firmware password but then my screen is still broken and I was thinking to use it as a pc. If I disconnect the internal screen, is it gonna display everything on a external display(through hdmi)? Even if I have to let’s say restart the system or update it or put in the firmware password? If the display is the issue there is no need to remove the display— the external monitor renders directly from the GPU not the display.

If you have AppleCare+ it will cover a large portion of accidental damage.
