Can I pair mismatched AirPods to my case?

My mom and I switch out AirPod pros by accident so we have each other’s pair in our own case. Everything charges and works fine, but I can’t get the annoying AirTag notification about the mis matched AirPods to go away. My mom leaves across the country so ideally if there was a way we could just keep the pods we do have and get rid of the notifications that would be amazing
