Keyboard shortcut for switching tabs in Text Edit

When there are multiple tabs open in Text Edit (or Preview) is there a keyboard shortcut for selecting next/previous tab? If not, can I set one up?

Running OSX 11 Big Sur

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

Is it possible to [Command + Tab] through open applications, but in reverse? I love to use key commands on a mac. I usually end up with 10+ applications open and running at the same time, and I love to use [Command + Tab] to quick jump back and forth. However... I very often end up accidentally hitting Tab one time too many, and I have to press it 9-10 more times to get through all the other open apps to get back to the one I wanted. Is there no key command or shortcut for shifting backwards through the open applications?

New 16" MBP: Keyboard shortcuts (Safari etc.) I have the new 16" MacBook Pro. In this model, it has become very difficult to reverse-shift between tabs in Safari due to the tight placement of CTRL and Shift keys. The shortcut is CTRL-Shift-Tab for reverse (and CTRL-Tab for forward-shift). How do I customise the shortcut in keyboard preferences? I don't want to change the shortcut to a CMD-shortcut. My preferred shortcut for the 16" model would be CTRL-<-Tab or CTRL-Option-Tab. However neither of these seem to be possible? Thanks!

Big Sur - Command + Tab is automatically rearranging topmost app window I recently upgraded to Big Sur. Now whenever I use Command + Tab to switch between apps, when it switches to the selected app, if that app has multiple windows opened, it automatically switches to one of the windows (the "default" window -- I think it's the last one opened), instead of leaving the current top-most window on top. So I am constantly having to change windows to get back to my top window after having used Cmd + Tab to switch between apps. This wasn't he behavior before I upgraded to Bug Sur. Does anyone know how to change it to remain on the currently top-most window in the newly selected app?
