Mojave - Disk not ejected properly

When I close the lid on my Mac Pro 2015, and I reopen when I want to start working again, my Mac,(Mac Pro 2015), often comes back with the message, external drive not ejected properly. This has only happened since I upgraded to Mojave. Any thoughts?

This is particularly as I use an internal Nifty drive.

Basically its any external drive, but in the Mac Pro 2015 there is an SDXC card slot, so I have a 256GB micro SD card inserted.

What I noticed last night is that although the Mac says the SD card is not ejected properly, it is in fact still connected. So I suspect the Mac is still remembering something from the previous iOS version (Big Sur).

Any thoughts?
