S.Learning,

That clarification was super helpful, thank you!

You can definitely watch Apple TV+ on your Mac and so long as the Roku device that you're using supports AirPlay 2, you should be able to stream content to that device. This can vary depending on the content that you're streaming, so please note that your experience may vary.

To watch Apple TV+ on your Mac, you can head here for step by step instructions: Watch on a Mac.

We hope this helps!

Cheers.

Greetings S.Learning,

We may need to have you clarify this question a bit. It sounds like you want to sign in the Roku channel via the TV app on your Mac but not stream any TV. However, Roku is a streaming platform with both hardware and apps. Roku – Streaming players, smart TVs, wireless speakers & audio

Could you layout your concerns about using your Apple ID a bit? That might help us be able to determine a path forward for using channels in the TV app.

Thanks.

Thanks, Annie. Your suggestion for clarification is helpful. The issue is that my TV streaming service does not have the security that my computer does. I do want to watch the Apple TV Channel on Roku, but I don't want to put my Apple ID on the streaming service. Therefore, I wonder if there is a way to sign in to Apple TV on my Mac, then be able to use that service streaming via Roku without entering my Apple ID on the Roku device.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Nathan. It's good to know I can use AirPlay to stream to my TV, but I would rather have the Apple TV Channel available on my Roku device to stream directly on my TV. The issue is that I don't want to risk uploading my Apple ID to the lower security of my Roku. Does anyone know if I can sign in to Apple TV account via my Mac, then activate Roku app – without uploading my Apple ID to Roku?

Thanks so much to all who take the time to read this and respond!

S.Learning,

Using two-factor authentication with your Apple ID will give you the best protection even when logged into your Roku. Please see: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID. If anyone ever tried to use your Apple ID and password on another device, you'd get a notification on your trusted device. A verification code you receive there would need to be entered into the new device.

Have a fantastic day!
