Macbook Pro 14 inch 2021 still has loose HDMI port... has anybody found a solution to this?

Or is this the norm? I ordered mine online so I might have to ship it back if it's a legit issue

Saw other posts way back 2014 that this is an issue so wondering if it's really what it is

Loose HDMI port on MacBook Pro 14” The HDMI port on my MacBook Pro has been loose since receiving it, I’m wondering if anyone else has the same issue. It’s to the point where if I’m just shifting the laptop closer to me on my work table, the connection will be disconnected. I took it in to the store during the 2 weeks return period, but the apple technician informed me that it was normal among all of the MacBooks. I’m skeptical of this as the HDMI connections for all my other devices have not been as loose as this.

Why won't Apple fix the issues with it's HDMI port? The HDMI port on the mac mini is very flaky. You may get it to work by jumping through a bunch of hoops, but it will be flaky and randomly stop working. Apple has known about this issue for over 5 years. There are hundreds of posts about this, and yet it never gets fixed. What do we have to do to get this fixed?

Faulty HDMI port or Software issues? I recently bought the new base model macbook pro 14” and have been testing out the HDMI port. At first everything seem to run smoothly transferring the imagine from the macbook to my tv but once i started to play music and video content i realized no audio was coming through. When i tried playing apple music, it would sound the same when you are losing signal on a phone call while fast forwardIng at the same time. I tried to fix it by going into the audio settings but nothing seemed to work. My only solution was to reboot the macbook which isn’t convenient for a new $2000 laptop i just bought. REBOOTING WORKED but like i said its not convenient to reboot everytime this occurs. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you have a solution? and would you recommend i return it?

A loose port is a mechanical problem. The fix is to have Apple evaluate it for repair.

If you bought DIRECT from Apple (not from a reseller or other source) the policy is that you have 14 days from receipt to return it for a full-value refund or exchange.

For this reason, Apple is very willing to exchange the one you received for another (strictly within that time frame).

If you leave it any longer, it becomes a repair issue, and could take far longer to get it fixed.
