No notifications from some apps after restore

I've got a new phone, backed up old and restored the backup to a brand new one. Worked nicely! But... Some apps don't send me push notifications, working fine on an old phone though.

I tried to "kick" them starting and refreshing content, seems it doesn't really work. Setting of those apps are ok.

What should I do?

Thanks for letting us know.

Sometimes in addition to the iPhone Settings for Notifications, apps will have additional settings within them related to notifications and sounds. Have you had an opportunity to check the internal settings on the affected apps? If not, we would recommend doing that next.

We also suggest that you make sure the iOS software on the phone is up-to-date: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. iOS updates can provide fixes to issues and other features that may help resolve issues.

And, we would also advise making sure your Date & Time settings are accurate, as incorrect settings here may cause a conflict if it does not match the date and time of other features and services: Change the date and time on iPhone - Apple Support.

Should you still need help after this, please get in touch with Apple Support directly. You can do that here: Get Support.

Enjoy your new iPhone!

Hey there Intenditore,

It's possible the alert style was changed when originally receiving the notifications. You can change the alert styles by following the steps below:

  1. "Go to Settings and tap Notifications.
  2. Select an app under Notification Style.
  3. Under Alerts, choose the alert style that you want. If you turn on Allow Notifications, choose when you want the notifications delivered — immediately or in the scheduled notification summary.

With iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, you can turn on Critical Alerts so notifications come through even if your iPhone is muted or you have a Focus set up."

If you need to manage notifications, the following steps will show you how:

"To manage your notifications from the Lock Screen or Notification Center:

  1. Swipe left over an alert or group of alerts.
  2. Tap Options, then select from these options:
    • Mute for 1 Hour
    • Mute for Today
    • View Settings
    • Turn Off

You can also tap View Settings to change your alert styles or alert settings for a specific app."

Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Still need help? Feel free to reply with more details including the current iOS installed (Settings > General > About).

Take care!

Thanks, I checked it. Nothing changed there.

Although, weirdly notifications on one of the apps started to work! Prior to that I tried to switch settings back and forth, turning pushes on and off etc, it didn't do anything. Others still don't. That seems very strange, like app needs some "load" of pushes to finally start giving alerts. Really strange :D
