Why is my Canon MX922 is not scanning from my new MacBook Pro 14" ?

Why isn't my CanonMX922 scanning from my new MacBook Pro 14" with MAC OS Monterey 12.2.1? It is able to print properly so this seems odd. Any clues please?

You may need to update the driver (found at the Canon site)

I recently had to reinstall the driver for my MX922 on a new M1 iMac.
