I have two cards in my wallet and making contactless payments in shops works fine. The express transit setting is in and allocated to my Amex card.
But…it doesn’t work on London buses. It sometimes works on the London overground / tube but not all the time.
I’ve lived in London all my life and the cards are UK issued - they cards work fine on the buses.
is there a way to solve this anomaly?

This also started happening to me last month. I had been using the same Amex for four years on the London Underground and now suddenly it doesn’t work without FaceID. I have removed and re-added the card but the problem persists. Sometimes the card reader displays “use one payment method” which is bizarre since you can only use one card for express transit.

Have you had a chance to verify Where you can ride transit using Apple Pay? If not, start there.
