Apple TV app Samsung tv

Finally samsung made available the Apple TV app on one of my older Samsung smart TV’s...Upon opening app, only options showing at very top is the Apple TV+, the search, and settings. It does NOT include Watch now, Store/or Library like my two other samsung Tv’s..It doesn’t allow me to rent movies, only what is available for free..anybody know why? I tried deleting and reinstall but didn’t help.

  • The Apple TV app is available on select models TV as listed on: List of Apple TV app-supported devices - Apple.
  • Additionally, the Apple TV+ app (note the Plus) is available on slightly older TV models, and models that may be skipped in the former list. This app specializes in Apple TV+ content, and doesn’t offer iTunes Store movies and TV shows, nor Apple TV app Channels – unlike the full Apple TV app.

Two different apps with different functionality, for TV models as agreed upon between the TV manufacturer and Apple. One of them with unique/exclusive content only, that isn’t available elsewhere.

Thanks for your reply…It does support accounts, if I understand what you mean by that…I did have to log in with Apple ID, etc.. so it must recognize my account. In any case I agree it has something to do with it being older tv. Probably Samsung the culprit, same as it took them long enough to get this app to work on this model in the first place.
