Studio Display with HDMI input?

Anyone know if you can connect a regular HDMI device to the new Studio Display? I know it doesn't have a port for it, but would an adapter work? I'd like to use the monitor for my Nintendo Switch when it's not being used for work with my MacBook.

Anyone have one they could test?

hcsitas says: “It won’t work with anything other than what’s on the spec under “compatibility”. Not worth even trying, unfortunately.”

Apple’s Technical Specification page simply lists “Studio Display is compatible with the following Mac models”. That is a list of Apple devices. It does NOT say it is incompatible with all other devices.

Studio Display - Technical Specifications - Apple (UK)

Studio Display works fine with my Windows 10 laptop, a Razer Blade Pro 2021 with built-in 17-inch 4K 120Hz display and RTX 2080 GPU.

The display plugs straight in and supports the full 5K 60Hz resolution of the display.

The display should also work fine with a wide range of Thunderbolt Display compatible devices.
