I have multiple user profiles on my Macbook Pro on Monterey 12.3. When I change the profile picture of a User, within a day or two, that profile picture is being reused randomly on other profiles, too.
Most frustrating. The whole point of having multiple profiles is to more easily separate my concerns. Can anyone help?

I am afraid this is an unfortunate side effect of iCloud.
I don't know when this started, but when you have an account that is signed in to iCloud, the account photo syncs with iCloud; as a consequence if you have two user accounts in your mac and they are both logged in to the same iCloud account, they will have the same user photo.
Other than not signing to the same iCloud account, I don't see a way around this.
Multiple profiles each with a unique Apple ID will do what you want. Otherwise, if you use the same Apple ID you see what happens.
