macOS Catalina automatically enables Do Not Disturb via "Presentation Mode" when external display connected.

This question was asked a few times before. The most recent I've found is from November of 2019 but is closed to further comments:

macOS Catalina automatically enables Do N… - Apple Community

As the other linked question states, the ""When mirroring to TVs and projectors" is not enabled. Despite this setting never being enabled, "Do Not Disturb" is consistently enabled when the computer is turned on while connected to an external display - which is every time the computer is turned on.

I don't see any other system settings for "Presentation Mode". As the previous question theorizes, this may be caused by another application. Regardless, it's still a system issue that Apple needs to look into. But waiting for Apple to fix something is fairly pointless. Does anyone have insight or a remedy?

Well, if that's the case, my only advice is to join http://developer.apple.com/ and submit a bug report on http://bugreporter.apple.com/ Note, these submissions you can't report on Apple Support Communities what results you find, but you will at least have the satisfaction of having dealt directly with Apple's software developers to troubleshoot why the system configuration is failing you. And you may get feedback how to work around it in a way that meets your needs.
