can i use my imac as a monitor

Hi there, i know this has been touched on before but i just wanted to ask if there is any feasible way that i can use my imac 27" as a monitor for another computer. Its a great screen but not powerful enough for the 3d work i am doing now and feel like its such a waste to have to buy another monitor when i already have a great one. do i have to just accept that apple make it impossible to upcycle or can i somehow hack together a solution? any advice will be much appreciated. Danny

There are no solutions. You can't use a 2015 iMac as a monitor. You also can't AirPlay to a 2015 iMac.

I understand your disappointment but it is what it is, there are no solutions except to continue using, recycling or donating to charity.

FWIW, if you are trying to use your iMac as a monitor for a Windows PC, you could install Windows 10 using BootCamp on the iMac. It would be possible in that case.

Upcycling isn’t possible unfortunately, however recycling is free - just drop it off at the closest Apple Store.

You're welcome. It is related to your computer seeing a 2015 iMac is not supported as explained in the article.

There are solutions though, I have for example been using teamViewer to login to my PC from this mac which works well for some things but not 3d modelling. I was wondering whether anyone had any other more creative solutions out there. Saying flatly that there are no solutions is not very helpful IMO.
