MacBook Pro 13inch box smells like mold
I ordered one from Apple. The sealed box, unopened, had no odor. Once I did open it, however, a very horrible smell of some dark, damp cellar assailed me
I called Apple and had to drive an hour to get a replacement in person.
That one smells too.
The genius manager said that they are using "environmentally friendly" materials.
I said, "Wait, smells like this are NOT environmentally friendly. Odor is an environmental issue too."
The computer does not stink, but the Apple USB-C Charge Cable reeks as well. No amount of cleaning can make it go away.
I broke the box down to the bare nub and I think it is the glue that is used. That's my thought, anyway. China is going to kill us all. I bet you this odor is NOT acceptable to anyone who gets a whiff.
I had to order a new charge cable hoping that one won't stink.
This is bad, Apple. BAD.
