Why does streaming music use so much battery?

I have had my M1 MacBookPro 13" for just over 1 month and have had no problems with it. However, in the past few days, I realised that my Macbooks battery was draining quite quickly, and while researching I came across the 'Activity Monitor' and found out that it was Apple Music that was using so much battery. However, it wasn't that apple music working in the background as I had thought. Instead, I realised that streaming music (on apple music) would use so much energy, and it was that which was using most of my battery. How do I fix this? Or at least lower the impact?
