Had the new firmware updated to 1.3.0. I can answer an incoming call from my iPhone and I can put my iPhone down an actually have handsfree usage. The hearing aids, Oticon More 1, go into streaming mode and my voice is sent back through my hearing aid to the iPhone. I can put the iPhone in my shirt pocket and the caller says they hear my voice fine. Nice not to hold the iPhone next to my mouth to have a conversation. It does not work the same way when I answer a call on my Apple Watch but Oticon may get that working too. Fingers still crossed.

Yesterday I attempted pairing my Resound hearing aids to my wife’s iPhone 13 mini. This phone had never had Resound 3D app or hearing aids before. Within 2 minutes, the treble and bass began self adjusting. In discussing with my wife we realized that both iPhones were experiencing greater than normal battery drain. I then left the house with just iPhone and hearing aids, no other electronics. When I got out of range of my house, the hearing aids began performing normally. Returned home and began powering down all Apple devices. When I got to my Apple Watch series 7, which was on charger and in airplane mode. Noticed that the watch battery was below 80%, rather than fully charged. It appears the battery was draining faster than it could charge on the dock. I reset the watch to factory settings and left it unpaired. When I checked iPhone, hearing aid issue had stopped. Also re paired hearing aids with my wife’s iPhone and no issue. Checked again this morning and no issues with hearing aids and no unusual battery drain on iPhones. It would appear my issue (and hopefully yours) is being caused by Apple Watch. I have now re paired the Apple Watch to iPhone and all has been good for the past 2 hours.

It appears I finally got my bouncing bass/treble issue worked out on my ReSound HAs. I don’t know for certain what actually fixed it. Might have been a combination of things.

First I backed up my phone, wiped my phone clean (settings>general>Transfer or reset iPhone>Erase all content and settings) and restored from backup. But it still happened after that.

Then I deleted the Smart 3D app from my phone and watch. And forgot the device under settings>accessibility>hearing devices. Rebooted both phone and watch. Reinstalled Smart 3D on phone and watch and re-paired the HAs under settings>accessibility>hearing devices. Haven’t had the problem since. 🤞

Same problems described above since 15.4 - battery drain on Apple watch and bouncing sliders on Resound Quattro 9 HAs. Have tried unpairing HAs from my iPhone 13 Pro and paired them to one of our iPads and an iPhone Xs that are also on 15.5. Sliders still bounced. Tried pairing HAs to our old 6s that is still on 15.2 and the HAs performed perfectly - no bouncing sliders. Resound app had been uninstalled on all devices during tests. Confirms problem is with Apple OS since 15.4. Also, Resound app not contributing to the problem at all. Have been reporting tests to Resound and was finally told a week ago that they and Apple are aware of problem and Apple working on fix. Have spent many hours on phone with senior Apple tech trying several exercises in an effort to resolve watch battery issue. He collected significant amount of data from watch and forwarded to engineers. After requesting additional info, Apple engineers replied that they now know what is causing the drain issue (losing 20% per hour), but don’t know when a fix will be released. Consequently, battery drain issue and bouncing sliders problem are waiting for 15.6 with crossed fingers. I will install 15.6 when released and report back. Senior Apple tech is in constant contact with me and is also monitoring.

If you have tried to pair your hearing aids to you iPhone multiple times without success then you may need to do a Reset Network Settings. This will reset your bluetooth on your iPhone. Here is a link that explains it in more detail:

Return iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support

If this does not resolve the issue contact an Apple Accessibility Support Specialist at this link:

Some new info. Wish it was better info but it’s something…

I was away from home for that last week when I reported not having bouncing slider issues. That week sometimes I was on Wi-Fi and sometimes not.

As soon as I got back home the sliders started bouncing again! Literally as I was walking up to the front door. It must have something to do with my Wi-Fi. So I rebooted my router and hoped for the best but the problem persisted. It slowed it down noticeably and within a day or two the sliders were hardly moving. Just occasional changes (not the wildly bouncing sliders I was originally experiencing that really impact my ability to hear well.) I can deal with occasional changes for the short term if I have to, not happy about it, but I can deal with it.

I also have an iPad and an Apple Watch. The watch is always on and connected to my phone and Wi-Fi when I’m home but the iPad I don’t use as much and usually power it off completely to save the battery charge. I went to use it today and as soon as I turned it on and it connected to Wi-Fi the sliders went nuts; as soon as I turned it off, the sliders stopped bouncing.

Just throwing this out there. Not sure what any of it means anymore. The problem definitely seems to be related to Wi-Fi but not sure how the other combination of devices might be impacting the whole problem.

Well just today iOS 15.4.1 was released. So far it did not fix my low notification volume after pairing my Oticon hearing aids. I did a "Forget Device" and rebooted and had to do a "Forget Device" a second time and rebooted again to get the hearing aids unpaired. I then loaded the iOS 15.4.1 and crossed fingers again. Re-paired my hearing aids and was a little disappointed that my issue still exists. Give it a try and see if it fixes your issues.

We have the same issue of treble and bass sliders going haywire, the wife and me. Both have iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS 15.5. Hearing aids are ReSound link Quattro. Apple says new release to follow. 15.5 just came out. I was able to recreate the issue once my wife showed it to me. It does not appear to be the ReSound app, that can be deleted and you can see the slider show in accessibility.

I was of the opinion that this was wifi related as well, but found that if I turn wifi off on iPhone, but leave bluetooth on, the problem persists, but with wifi active in the house, but iPhone bluetooth off, no issues. I was able to reduce the frequency and severity of the problem by completely removing my Series 6 Apple Watch from the equation. Once that was unpaired, returned to factory settings, powered down and returned to the box, the problem was not as bad and seemed to only occur for a minute or two when the app would connect or reconnect to hearing aids. With no Apple Watch in the mix, I have been able to manage the issue with the bluetooth toggle. As soon as the sliders "settle down" I can make a manual adjustment to proper hearing aid setting, and then toggle off bluetooth. This does deactivate all bluetooth phone functionality, but better than fluctuating bass & treble in my ears. This is obviously not a solution for anyone dependent on Apple Watch and Bluetooth, but has made it manageable for me, and helped me realize I can function without my Apple Watch. Goodbye series 6, hello Garmin Fenix 7.

Hi Percyhallen,

We want to make sure the software on all devices you're signed into iCloud with are up to date and running the latest software version to overwrite any software issues that could be contributing what you're experiencing. Here's an article to help you update your software on all your devices: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. Simply follow the instructions below "Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch wirelessly".

Once you've verified that all devices, signed into your iCloud account are running 15.5 or later, try unpairing and pairing the hearing device once more to see if that resolves the issue. You can find information on pairing here: Use hearing devices with iPhone - Apple Support

Take care!
