MacBook Air disconnects from hotel’s Wifi after couple of seconds

My MacBook Air keeps disconnecting from the hotel Wifi after just a couple of seconds (not even long enough to make it through the login page).

I have no issue connecting to other Wifi networks on this MacBook, nor do I have issues connecting to this network with other devices (iPhone, iPad, PC). But I have had the same issue on this MacBook at other hotels. It appears like it might have something to do with the network timeout (you have to log back in every 7 days), as I was able to log in initially, but now that it’s been more than 7 days, I need to logging again. But I can’t stay connected long enough to make it back through the login page. This is very annoying, and seeing that it’s happened at multiple hotels, but only with this device, it appears like it’s an issue with MacOS.

I am using a 2020 (M1) MacBook Air on the latest version of MacOS Monterey. I have also tried turning Wifi off and back on, forgetting the network and reconnecting - nothing seems to help.

Troubleshooting Mac Wi-Fi:

A few thoughts to try

I. Clear your Temporary Internet Files:

Boot into Safe Mode and then Clear your Temporary Internet Files of Safari:

  1. Booting into Safe Mode: [hold down shift upon boot until the login screen appears]. See if this is still an issue. Safe Mode lets items run as default, without changes whatsoever. That is possible because caches of your macOS are temporarily disabled while in Safe Mode
  2. Clearing your Temporary Internet Files (Cookies & Cache) of Safari: Cookies perform remembrance of certain site-entered data. Whereas Cache keeps a snapshot of the last time you visited a site.  Use this Link: Clearing History and Cache - Apple Communities

II. Boot in Safe Mode:

In Safe ModeLogin Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another update install. For instructions, go here: How to Use safe Mode on your Mac - Apple Support

III. Try a New Admin User:

What happens when you create a new administrator user, and log into it? Do you still get this error? If not, then it is likely an error with the current user. If so, then it is likely an error with your Mac.

IV. Reset your SMC and your NVRAM:

(Applies to Intel-Basel Macs Only) Sometimes changes (i.e. Installations) are made to the system and then settings (i.e. Networking) become corrupted, technically. So, reset both on your Mac. So, reset the SMC and reset the NVRAM or PRAM. It might take three tries. to fix this. So, be certain you have the time to do so.

Start With This:

V. Hardwire Connection:

Any RJ-45 (Ethernet) sockets on the wall? If so, connect to that. And, if you have no RJ-45 ports on your Mac, then use this adapter: The Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple

It's nothing on your Mac's part You need to request a new key. Either (A), you are using too much bandwidth or (B), your key has run out of time.
