Studio Display won't turn on!

So yesterday I got the Studio Display.

Used the provided thunderbolt cable to connect to my MacBook pro 13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Everything was fine.

But today is not working! Restarted the macbook and still not working. It is charging my laptop but the Studio Display won't turn on.

What can I do? Return it???

So annoyed.

I got my brand new Studio Display (with 15.4 already on it), from the Apple Store today and experienced the same behavior with both a 2021 14-inch MacBook Pro, and a 2021 iPad Pro 12.9. Nothing but flicker on/pod and the three dots when powering on.

However, as soon as I switched to the Thunderbolt cable that came with my old LG Ultrafine, everything just worked. Will be contacting Apple Support for a new Thunderbolt cable because those suckers ain’t cheap and should work out of the box with an expensive monitor like this!

Same story here. Except mine worked for a few weeks and now just today after switching from my work MacBook to my personal MacBook, the 3 dots thing. Tried the 2 newish MacBooks, multiple cords, unplugging, was on the phone with apple support for 2 hours to no resolve. Have a call with a senior support person tomorrow to hopefully get help. Loved the studio display when it was working though and I do love apple and depend on their products daily but this is obviously very unfortunate/disruptive to my work.

I am experiencing the same issue as most stated here. I purchased a new mac studio and studio display. Luckily I had an old monitor I could connect to the mac studio otherwise I wouldn't have been able to even use my new computer.

I too get the three white dots and then black screen. The display was connected properly as suggested by Apple. Plugged in the studio display, connected the studio display to the mac studio and nothing. Connected them with he supplied thunderbolt cable and plugged into the proper thunderbolt ports on both mac and studio display.

Very frustrated.

I had this problem today, plugging my laptop into the monitor – just three dots then a blank screen, but my laptop was charging.

It turns out there are USB-C ports on the back of the monitor. Only ONE of them has a Thunderbolt (lightning) symbol above the port. You need to plug into this one for it to work.

(Junior colleague had borrowed the cable to charge her iPad and plugged it back into a different port!)
