I am purchasing an iPad Air 5th generation WIFI & have an extra active sim card for a phone line that we don't use. Can I use my sim card in an iPad WIFI, or would I need to purchase the iPad Air WIFI + Cellular to use the sim card?
Not if you purchase a wi-fi only iPad. To be able to use a cellular SIM card, you would have to purchase a wi-fi + Cellular iPad. And even though the SIM is one from an iPhone, it will not make phone calls, it can only be used for data.
