Consistent error: "Not yet set"

Almost every time I turn my MacBook off and then power it on again, I get a warning error saying "Your computer was restarted because of a problem." The error report then says "not yet set".

I can confirm that I do not turn off my laptop using the power button - I click the Apple icon in the top left corner of my screen and then click "Shut Down". In other words, this is happening on ordinary shutdowns, not forced shutdowns.

An additional unexpected behaviour is that, after shutting down, my laptop acts as if it were just in sleep mode. I.e. if I open the laptop, or press any key, it immediately boots up. I don't have to press the power button to turn the laptop on.

I have a 2020 13inch MacBook Pro with Intel processor.

Thank you for your reply, but it does not address the issue I am experiencing.

As stated in my original post above, my laptop DOES NOT restart unexpectedly or randomly. I am therefore not experiencing any random kernel panics etc. I shut my laptop down myself in an ordinary fashion (through clicking Apple logo > Shut Down).

However, when I boot up again, I invariably receive a "not yet set" error report.

I have seen other posts that state that this is normal behaviour if your laptop has been "force shut down" - i.e. by holding down the power button. But that is NOT what I am doing - as stated, I use the software shut down function, but still get the "not yet set" error.
