Icloud on Windows 11 - can't find the pics

I have 200 pics on an Ipad, set to go to Icloud. I have a Windows 11 PC, that is set up for Icloud use.

Yesterday I set up the sync on the Ipad and it took four hours uploading everything to Icloud. Icloud now shows 256 MB of pics. BUT I can only find 5 pictures when I open Icloud. Where are all the pics?

The Windows 11 PC is new to me and I'm still having trouble navigating (previous XP user)

Windows, Windows 10

Hi cjthomps,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you're not seeing all your photos in iCloud.

Make sure you've set up iCloud for Windows correctly with the steps here: Set up and use iCloud Photos on your Windows PC

If you've already followed those steps and are still not seeing your photos, can you signing into iCloud.com to see if they show there?

Thanks!

They finally came through - it just took a while. But now I have another problem. I cannot, thus far, navigate how to share an album with a friend. when I do what they say, everything in the library becomes a link, that says at the other end:

"Shared photos unavailable - you don't have permission to open it."

So then I made an album on the Ipad Mini 2 V12.5.5, that can be viewed publicly and I haven't heard yet whether that one can be opened. I sent it also to myself and with 300 pics, it's taken hours to open. I don't know what's going on.

another question: I take pics with my Ipad Mini. Since installing Icloud on the Ipad Mini 2 and on Windows 11 are they both now synced so that when I delete a pic on one device - then it is deleted on the other device??

I really don't want that. The pics were taking up a lot of space on the Ipad and the Ipad is getting old. I wanted to transfer all the pics from the Ipad to the PC, taking them through Icloud, rather than emailing them one by one. (whew)

So how to I delete off Ipad and save them on the PC. Are all the Photo apps linked, so what happens one place happen everywhere? that's not a good thing.

Got it. To clarify, are you using these steps when trying to share this album: Share iPhone photos with Shared Albums in iCloud

Please be mindful of the following:

To use Shared Albums, your device must be connected to the internet. Shared Albums work over both Wi-Fi and cellular networks. Cellular data charges may apply.

Have you tried connecting to another network to see if you experience the same behavior? Also, have you tried sending less photos to see if that helps?

We look forward to your reply. Cheers!
