Apple watch 7 and hearing aids

Apple watch7 connects via Bluetooth to my hearing aids. Music etc plays fine, but will not stream phone calls. Answers a call on the watch and all's well, but clicking on the 3 dots opens the option for hearing aid, but the call is cut off for several seconds, then continues, but doesn't stream to hearing aids.

Help. I'm very deaf.

Yes. As stated, the iPhone 12 connects via Bluetooth to my hearing aid perfectly for phone calls, but same software, same hearing aid same Bluetooth won't send phone calls from my Apple watch 7 to my hearing aid.

The connection must be correct because the watch sends all other sounds to my hearing aids.

The watch even shows the option of calls to stay on the watch or to send to the hearing aid.

The apple watch pairs beautifully with my hearing aids. The Bluetooth connection is no problem. The watch sends music, notifications, everything via Bluetooth to my hearing aids ... BUT... NOT phone calls. When I make or receive a phone call, the watch carries the conversation normally. Then when I press the three dots on the watch, the watch displays the options "APPLE WATCH" and "HEARING AID", but the call does not transfer to the hearing aid, the call continues on the watch.

When I take a call on my iPhone, it displays "PHONE", "SPEAKER", "HEARING AID". When I select HEARING AID, the call is sent to my hearing aid and it's crystal clear. Thanks... Bev

Yep! I've tried every combination I can think of: with cell phone paired to hearing aid and not the watch, with the hearing aid and watch paired only, with hearing aid and watch paired with phone off. (The watch is a standalone). doesn't need the phone.

Once reset the watch as well.

Apple says the watch will pair with the hearing aid. It does, but it still won't connect a phone call to my hearing aid, and that's the reason I bought the watch and phone.

Hello bmcquain,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

Let's try the steps outlined here:

If you can’t connect your Bluetooth accessory or it won’t reconnect:

  1. If you see  on your watch face, Airplane Mode is on. On your Apple Watch, tap Settings > Airplane Mode, then turn it off.
  2. Make sure your accessory is fully charged and powered on.
  3. If you see the accessory in Settings > Bluetooth on Apple Watch, but you can’t connect, use the steps above to unpair the accessory.
  4. Try to pair the accessory again.

If you need help connecting or using a Bluetooth accessory with your Apple Watch, contact the manufacturer.

More details can be found on this article: Use AirPods and other Bluetooth accessories with Apple Watch

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? Can you pair your Apple Watch to another device and test to see if the same thing happens? Also, what is your exact watchOS version?

Good Luck!
