Upload to iCloud paused..

I recently went from an 11 pro to a 13 pro and continue to get the upload to iCloud paused message seen in the photo. It goes away when I’m on Wi-Fi and charging but is ever present at all other times. I’ve toggled it off and on. iCloud storage is not full. I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Tryinginaustin,

When this message appears it means your content hasn't completed uploading to iCloud. Keeping your iPhone plugged in and connected to a reliable Wi-Fi connection will continue to upload the content until it has been completed. Once completed, the message will no longer appear.

When you turn on iCloud Photos, the time it takes for your photos and videos to upload to iCloud depends on the size of your collection and your internet speed. If you have a large collection of photos and videos, your upload might take more time than usual. You can see the status and pause the upload for one day.

•On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the Photos app, go to the Library tab, and tap All Photos. Then scroll to the bottom of your screen.
•On your Mac, open the Photos app. Select Library in the sidebar, then click All Photos in the list of tabs in the toolbar. Scroll to the bottom of your photos and click Pause.

You can find this information in Set up and use iCloud Photos. This information would also apply to iCloud Messages as well when it is enabled.

We hope this helps.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

Thank you for those additional details, Tryinginaustin.

You mentioned having toggled it off and back on. To confirm, did you turn off iCloud Photos in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos? If so, this will cause your photos to sync with iCloud and cause this prompt to appear. In addition to the steps you've already completed, have you restarted your iPhone and confirmed you're running the latest iOS? If not, these steps would be the right direction for resolving this issue. You can find the steps for restarting your iPhone listed below.

Restart your iPhone

1: "Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

2: Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3: To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

The steps for updating iOS can be found in the following article.
