Apple TV Remote lost

I have an older Apple TV and I lost my remote. I tried to use my iPhone remote but it doesn’t let me connect. It shows me a code to enter on my Apple TV but I don’t have the remote to do that.

The Apple TV (4th generation or later) should be straight-forward to pair with, as described, if both devices are already on the same home network.


The Apple TV (3rd generation) needs a functional remote to set up the Apple TV Remote widget in Control Center.
